Nissan sold 35,502 vehicles across Europe in February, representing a four per cent year-on-year increase, fuelcard holders may be interested to learn.

Micra sales were up 44 per cent year-on-year, Note was up 25 per cent, while the Qashqai was up six per cent.

The top three countries for Nissan sales were Italy, Germany and Spain, while the UK came sixth. Nissan suggested that figures appear to be higher across Western Europe than last year due to scrap incentives.

Bernard Loire, Vice President Sales Operations for Nissan in Europe commented: "Nissan in Europe's market share in February was healthy at 2.9 per cent and customer demand for our core models continues to be strong.

“We have healthy order banks going into the important month of March.”

In other news, Euro NCAP has published its latest crash test results on five new vehicles.

The Toyota Verso was the only vehicle out of the five to score the highest five-star rating for child and adult occupancy protection, pedestrian protection and safety assist features.
