16/07/2010
The first official photograph of the Range Rover Evoque, said to be the smallest, lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever produced, has been released to mark the 40th anniversary of the Range Rover brand.
With a sleek, modern shape, the new 4x4 model has three doors and is very compact.
The Evoque will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in late September this year and will be available to buy from next summer.
Phil Popham, managing director of Land Rover, said: “The all-new Range Rover Evoque is a true global car and will be sold in over 160 countries.
“It was important to give the car a name that was instantly recognizable through language and cultural boundaries throughout the world. We wanted to create a new name, which was innovative and different."
In related news, Which? reports that British company Liberty Electric Cars has produced an all-electric Range Rover, said to be the world’s first zero emissions 4x4.
