Fuel Card News Motoring Updates: Van and truck market continues its recovery

The commercial vehicle market is continuing to grow with truck and van registrations up by 10.7 percent in October.
New figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) registration increased to 23,580 units in October, with the rolling year up by 19.5 percent to 295,978.
Truck registrations were up by 33.3% to 4,210 in the month, rolling year up by 28.3% to 40,710 and van registrations were up 6.7% to 19,370 units, rolling year up by 18.2% to 255,268.
Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive, said: “The commercial vehicle market remains buoyant with October registrations up by more than 10 percent and year to date up by nearly 20 percent.
"Efficiency is a key driver as operators are investing in the latest models across almost every market sector to reap the rewards of greater load carrying ability and fuel economy. These remain challenging economic conditions and we are looking to the Chancellor's Autumn Statement later this month to set out measures to boost growth and steady business confidence."
